Weigle Takes Third in Three-Meter at Zones

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior Lindsay Weigle finished in third place on the three-meter at the 2006 Zone C Diving Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on March 11. The Bloomington, Ind., product recorded 632.70 points, after drilling her final dive (a backward 1.5 somersault with 2.5 twists) for 63.00 points.
Meanwhile, sophomore Christina Loukas placed fifth with a 612.40-point tally. Her best dives came in the fourth (reverse 2.5 somersault from a pike position) and sixth (forward 2.5 somersault with 1 twist from a pike position) with matching 67.50 scores.
Sophomore Jade Summerlin rounded out the Hoosier presence in finals with an 18th-place 481.80. She registered 43.20 points with an inward 2.5 somersault from a tuck position for her best showing.
The Hoosiers will have one last chance to earn a bid at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga., from March 16-18 during the platform competition on March 12. The top-two will secure spots at NCAAs.
