BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Senior Stacey Clausing led the Hoosiers at the Indiana Open II on Saturday, Jan. 13, winning two events.
Clausing finished first in the 60-meter dash in 7.70, and won the 200-meter dash in 24.16.
Seven Hoosiers came away with victories. Senior Lorian Price won the 60-meter hurdles (8.71) and sophomore Caitlin Lauer earned a win in the 800-meters (2:14.08). Sophomore Audrey Smoot finished the 600-meter run in 1:36.52, as her and Courtney Freiberger led a 1-2 sweep in the event.
In the field events, sophomore Tiffany Howard won the shot put (14.12 meters) and Vera Neuenswander cleared 3.63 meters in the pole vault to finish first.
Others who finished strong include freshman Ashley Rhoades, who cleared 1.73 meters in the long jump to finish in second. Freshman Faith Sherrill was second in the weight throw with a toss of 15.48 meters.
Indiana returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 20, as it hosts the Indiana Team Classic. Events begin at noon.
