Second Half Shutout Not Enough To Extend Indiana's Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana saw its season come to a close on Thursday, suffering a loss to the eighth-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes moved one step closer to a third straight Big Ten Tournament Championship, defeating the Hoosiers 5-2.
Indiana held the Hawkeyes scoreless in the final 40 minutes of action, after Iowa put up five scores. Indiana got two goals in the contest, the first from senior Dani Castro and the second from junior Alina Valenti.
Castro scored her third goal of the year in her final game as a Hoosier. In the 22nd minute, Castro scored off a penalty corner with assists from sophomores Kelsey Kiper and Katie Griswold. Valenti's score came off a rebound. She picked up a miss off a penalty corner and put it in the cage for her sixth goal of the season.
Sophomore Alex Mann recorded five saves in the game, moving her season total to 83, which is the eighth best season total in school history.
