Hoosiers Fall to No. 7 Ohio State, 4-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team suffered a 4-1 loss to No. 7 Ohio State in Bloomington on Saturday, Oct. 2. The Hoosiers lone goal was scored by junior Jaclyn Milici at the 42:11 mark in the second half.
The Buckeyes (8-3, 1-1) got on the board just six minutes into the first half as Berta Queralt scored on a rebound. The next two goals for OSU came on corners, one at the 20:51 mark and the other at the 27:12 mark. The Hoosiers (5-4, 0-2) cut Ohio State's lead to two, 3-1, as Milici scored off a rebound on a shot by freshman Danielle McNally at the 42:11 mark to give Indiana a little momentum in the second half. However, the Buckeyes scored the final goal of the game at the 47:31 mark on another corner to seal the 4-1 win.
Redshirt sophomore Morgan Fleetwood took a team-high two shots on goal, while Milici took one shot on goal for IU's only goal and McNally took one shot on goal and added an assist. Redshirt junior Brenna Moeljadi recorded her second defensive save of the season, while senior Alex Mann started in goal and recorded five saves in 70 minutes.
Ohio State outshot Indiana, 16-4, on the game and earned seven penalty corners to the Hoosiers' one.
Indiana returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 5, when they play host to No. 10 Louisville at 3 p.m. ET.
