Hoosiers Blank the Boilers

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Indiana moved to 11-4 (2-1 Big Ten) on the season with a 7-0 victory over rival Purdue. The Hoosiers won all but one doubles match and got straight-set wins in four of six singles bouts. The IU win puts the two schools in a tie at 6.5 points in the Crimson and Gold Cup standings. That tie will be broken on Sat., April 3, when the IU women's tennis team hosts Purdue.
Senior Lachlan Ferguson scored a win over Slavko Bijelica at number one singles (4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8)). Ferguson was joined by freshman Josh MacTaggart for an 8-3 win at number two doubles. MacTaggart won 6-4, 6-3 at number two singles.
Indiana also got straight set wins at number three (Josh MacTaggart (IU) def. Branko Kuzmanovic (PUR) 6-4, 6-3), number four (Santiago Gruter (IU) def. Eric Ramos (PUR) 7-5, 7-6 (7-4)) and number six (Alexander van Gils (IU) def. Thomas Wilson (PUR) 6-2, 6-1).
Gruter and Langer won at number one doubles by an 8-3 tally, and freshman Isade Juneau defeated Paul Foley at number five by a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 score.
