BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Volleyball (8-18, 0-14) fell in four sets to fifth-ranked Illinois (22-3, 11-3). The Hoosiers took the second set but the Illini took the match (17-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-16). IU got double-digit kills from Kelci Marschall and Samantha Thrower, with Marschall chalking up 15 kills for the second-straight night.
Marschall keyed the Hoosiers win in the second set, notching seven of her kills while hitting .462. Jade Henderson also provided a spark in the set, entering the match after sitting the first set to hit .333 with five kills. As a team, the Hoosiers hit .344 in the set, while holding the Illini to just .214 hitting on 28 swings.
In the match, Caitlin Cox totaled 17 digs, and Whitney Granado had 10 to go along with 37 assists for a double-double. Thrower led the Hoosiers with four blocks, and Granado had three. Morgan Leach had nine kills and Henderson had eight.
