Morris Off to Quick Start at Polytan Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana's Laura Morris got off to a quick start in the heptathlon on day one of the Polytan Invitational. Morris bettered the first day total from her career best overall score in the seven-event series.
Morris scored 3,019 points, to better her one-day pace from last year's Big Ten Championships, where the senior recorded her career best two-day total of 4,838. The Mahomet, Ill., native recorded lifetime bests in three of the four events on the day.
