Oxford, Ohio - The Indiana field hockey team pulled away with a 1-0 win on the road this afternoon when the Hoosiers shutout Miami (Ohio) to improve their mark to 7-5 on the year.
Both teams were even in shots at 12 apiece, but IU's Morgan Fleetwood would provide the game-winner with her eighth goal of the year. Fleetwood came through in the 43rd minute of play with her unassisted goal to give her team a one-score lead.
Indiana's defense remained unscathed through the remainder of the contest, successfully shutting down the RedHawks' offensive efforts this afternoon. Goalkeeper Viki Green denied all seven of Miami's shots at the net to pick up her second shutout of the year and improve to 5-3 overall.
Indiana will return to action on Friday, Oct. 12 with Big Ten opponent Northwestern at 4 p.m. EST.
