IU Shoots Down the Hawkeyes at Big Ten Tournament

EVANSTON, Ill. - Indiana men's tennis (22-8, 7-4 Big Ten, No. 27) knocked off Iowa on Thursday, advancing to the second round of the Big Ten tournament, where they will play the fourth-seeded Gophers of Minnesota. The fifth-seeded Hoosiers beat 12th-seed Iowa 4-0, getting wins in singles play from Isade Juneau, Josh MacTaggart and Stephen Vogl. The Hoosiers play Minnesota at 9:30 a.m. CT on Friday.
In doubles, IU won at one and three, with Jeremy Langer and Juneau taking down Garret Dunn and Michael Swank 8-5 at number one. At three, Vogl and Will Kendall beat Tom Mroziewicz and Will Vasos 8-3.
In singles, Juneau quickly made it a 2-0 IU lead, taking down Matt Hagan 6-0, 6-2 at number one. MacTaggart was right behind, defeating Will Vasos 6-1, 6-4 at number two for the 90th singles win of his career and his 34th of the season, and Vogl closed things out with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at number four. With 34 singles wins, MacTaggart is tied for IU's single-season record.
