Men's DMR Takes Florida Relays Title

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Relays finished up on Saturday, and the Hoosiers took the men's distance medley relay title and took runner-up finishes in three events, along with a third-place finish.
The men's DMR of Robbie Nierman, Ryan Hindes, Danny Stockberger and Andy Weatherford took the Florida Relays title with a winning time of 9:51.02, beating McNeese State to the line by more than half a second.
Derek Drouin took second in the men's high jump, clearing a season best 2.20m (7-2.5). The clearance ties him for the best mark in the Big Ten this season.
IU's women's DMR took second in 11:24.09. Arianne Raby, Antonia Franklin, Ruth Christopher and Breanne Ehrman were more than 20 seconds better than the third-place team.
The Hoosier women were also second in the 4x800m relay. Samantha Gwin, Christopher, Ashley Seymour and Jordan Gray clocked a time of 8:50.12, which was nine seconds better than third place.
The men's 4x800m relay saw IU take third in a time of 7:31.47. Nolan Fife, Hindes, Joe Holahan and Stockberger carried the baton for the Hoosiers.
In the women's shot put invitational section, Monique Riddick took sixth with a heave of 15.41m (50-6.75).
Next weekend the Hoosiers compete at the Border Battle in Louisville. The meet will pit Indiana and Notre Dame against Kentucky and Louisville in a battle for state bragging rights. For complete coverage of all things IU track and field, stay tuned to IUHoosiers.com.
