Hoosiers fall against Michigan State in Big Ten Tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Indiana field hockey team tallied 10 shots, but could not convert goal-scoring chances as they fell 6-0 to Michigan State in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday at Buckeye Varsity Field.
The Hoosiers (9-10) surrendered two goals to Michigan State (10-9) forward Abby Barker in the first 15 minutes and the Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Barker added a third goal a minute into the second half off a penalty corner and the Spartans went up 4-0.
The Hoosiers got their attack going in the second half as they recorded nine of their 10 shots in the second period and had two penalty corners in the second half.
Sydney Supica had five shots for the Hoosiers including three shots on goal. Michigan State got 15 shots with 11 of them on goal.
Karen Lorite recorded a defensive save for the Hoosiers.
Michigan State advances to play Ohio State in the semifinal.
