IU Defeats Nebraska, 6-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's tennis (14-10, 6-2) took a 6-1 victory over No. 58 Nebraska (10-9, 2-4) on Sunday. The 69th-ranked Hoosiers took the doubles point and never looked back, winning at five of the six singles spots.
In doubles play, IU got 8-5 victories at both two and three doubles to clinch the point. Josh MacTaggart and Daniel Bednarczyk took down Bradford Zitsch and Dusty Boyer at number two, and Dimitrije Tasic and Chris Essick defeated Scott Elsass and Brandon Videtich at number three. The match at number one was unfinished after the team point was clinched.
In singles, Isade Juneau got the ball rolling with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tom Blackwell at number three. Next to finish was Sam Monette, who beat Andre Stenger 6-3, 6-3 at number two. A 6-4, 6-2 victory from Essick over Bradford Zitsch at number six wrapped things up from a team perspective as IU took a 4-0 lead.
Bednarczyk beat Eric Sock 6-3, 6-2 at number five, moving IU's lead to 5-0. The next match to finish saw Nebraska score their lone point, as Marc Herrmann defeated Tasic in a third set tiebreaker. Herrmann took the match 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (8).
MacTaggart closed things out, defeating Boyer in a third-set tiebreaker of his own. MacTaggart took the first set 6-4 and fell 6-7 in the second. In the third set breaker, MacTaggart prevailed 10-8 to take a 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (8).
