Indiana Game Notes |
• The Hoosiers improved to 4-0 for the third time in four years.
• IU has the third longest non-conference home winning streak in the nation at 43.
• IU is now 32-0 in home games in November under Tom Crean.
• For the second straight game, the Hoosiers took care of the basketball with just nine turnovers after having seven against SMU on Thursday.
• Tonight marks the ninth consecutive game dating back to last year that Indiana has allowed six three-pointers or fewer.
• In the last two games, Indiana has had 36-18 advantage in the points off turnovers battle (19-5 vs. SMU).
• The Hoosiers have converted 36 free throws between the last two games. Lamar and SMU combined for 10 made on 18 attempts. The Cardinals were averaging 30 free throw attempts per game prior to tonight.
• For the third time in four games, IU had 40 points or more (42) points in the paint.
• Freshman James Blackmon, Jr. led the Hoosiers with 21 points and six rebounds. He is averaging 22.8 points per game and is shooting 64.0 percent from three-point range making 16 out of 25 from long distance. He also has made a team-best 21 of 23 free throws.
• Junior Wooden and Cousy Award candidate Kevin Yogi Ferrell had 19 points and three assists. He has had 10 assists and just one turnover in his last two games. For the season, he is averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 assists and is shooting 47.4 from downtown.
• Freshman Robert Johnson contributed 13 points and three boards. He is third on the team averaging 13.8 points and is shooting 56.8 from the floor.
• Junior Hanner Mosquera-Perea had 11 points and four rebounds in 24 minutes. He is shooting 65.0 percent from the field making 13 of 20 field goal attempts.
• Sophomore Troy Williams had 10 points, five boards, three assists and two steals in 22 minutes. He is shooting 66.7 percent from the field and averaging 10.5 points in two games.
• Sophomore Stanford Robinson had six points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot. He also made all four of his free throw attempts.
• Freshman Emmitt Holt saw the first action of his career and had 4 points, 2 rebounds and a steal.
• Sophomore Collin Hartman had a free throw, three rebounds and an assist.
• The Hoosiers will play Eastern Washington this Monday, November 24 at 7:30 pm on ESPNews in the fourth and final game of the Hoosier Showcase.
