LUBBOCK, Texas - Indiana Baseball came out of the wrong end of a doubleheader sweep at Texas Tech, falling by final scores of 10-5 and 6-2. The third-ranked Hoosiers (1-2) look to split the four-game series on Sunday, facing TTU (2-1) in a 1 pm ET/noon CT contest on get-away day.

Texas Tech's Tyler Neslony made IU pay after issuing four straight free passes (HBP, 3 BB) in the opening frame of game one, lifting a grand slam over the left field wall to push the Red Raiders out in front 5-0.

Dustin DeMuth kick started a mid-game comeback in the third, leading off with a single. Two batters later, Will Nolden followed a walk issued to Casey Rodrigue by connecting on a 2-run single. Sam Travis drove in a run as well as Indiana plated four runs and pulled within 5-4.

The 5-4 score remained until the bottom of the fifth when Adam Kirsch blasted a no-doubter out of the yard, good for two tallies. They never looked back from there, adding on three more runs en route to a 10-5 victory.

Indiana jumped ahead 2-1 in the fourth frame of game number two on RBI by Casey Smith and Brad Hartong. The lead was short-lived, however, when an RBI-triple from Tyler Floyd evened the score at 2-2 in the home half of the inning.

A booted groundball with two outs in Texas Tech's next at-bat proved costly for the Cream and Crimson. The defensive gaffe opened the door for a pair of unearned runs to come across, giving the Red Raiders and 4-2 advantage. Two more TTU runs came across in the seventh creating the 6-2 final tally.

Game four in Lubbock is set for 1 pm ET/noon CT on Sunday. It's a southpaw showdown as Indiana's Will Coursen-Carr is slated to face off against freshman Ty Darmon of Texas Tech. Tune in to IUHoosiers.com for a live audio broadcast of the action.
