No. 35 Indiana Drops Wisconsin, 5-2

MADISON, Wis. - The No. 35 Indiana women's tennis team earned a road Big Ten win over Wisconsin on Friday afternoon, 5-2.
In doubles, IU's (14-5, 2-2) Alecia Kauss and Kayla Fujimoto downed UW's (7-5, 2-2) Becca Bailey and Sydney Rider 8-4 in the No. 3 match to start. Carolyn Chupa and Katie Klyczek followed with an 8-3 triumph over Wisconsin's Lauren Chypyha and Lauren Burich at No. 1 to clinch the doubles point for Indiana.
Shannon Murdy started the Hoosiers out with a singles win at No. 5, giving up just one game to Rider, 6-1, 6-0. Chupa gave IU its third point with a straight-set 6-0, 6-4 triumph over UW's Anastasia Tripolskaya in the No. 3 position.
Chypyha put Wisconsin on the board by topping IU's Katie Klyczek in the No. 1 spot, 6-4, 6-4. Paula Gutierrez then clinched the win for the Hoosiers with a 7-6, 6-0 win at No. 6.
Sophie Garre picked Indiana's fifth point with a win in the No. 2 match to end the day.
The Hoosiers will now head to Minnesota to battle the Gophers on Sunday, March 30. That match will begin at 11 a.m. ET.
