BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana men's tennis head coach Jeremy Wurtzman has announced the signing of Zac Brodney (Los Angeles, California/Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies) and Bennett Crane (Huntersville, North Carolina/RJ Reynolds High School).
"We are excited to have Zac and Bennett join the Hoosiers next fall," Wurtzman said. "They both have great character and a strong work ethic that will be a great fit for the culture that we are continuing to build at Indiana."
Zac comes from Los Angeles, California and is a five-star recruit.
"Zac is a talented lefty that has a great passion for the game," Wurtzman said. "He has been a highly ranked player out of Southern California in every age division. His experience playing against the nations best will help his transition to the Big Ten."
Bennett comes from Huntersville, North Carolina and trains at the Randy Pate Tennis Academy. He is a two-time National Doubles Champion and a five-star recruit.
"Bennett has proven to be one of the best players for his class in both singles and doubles," Wurtzman said. "He has had a great junior career winning two gold balls in doubles and a lot of success on the singles court as he is the #19 recruit for his class. We look forward to developing Bennett in to a great college player."
IU plans to announce additional recruits for the 2016-17 season.
In Coach Wurtzman's first season the Hoosiers went from ninth to fifth in the Big Ten and got as high as #27 in the National Rankings. Indiana has five seniors and looks to build off a successful fall season.
