Indiana Game Notes |
• With the win Indiana improves to 17-7 overall and 7-4 in Big Ten play.
• Indiana now leads the all-time series vs. Michigan 105-57 and are 17-1 vs. the Wolverines in Bloomington since Jan. 23, 1996. Indiana has not lost to Michigan at home since Jan. 7, 2009 (6-0 since).
• After Michigan cut the Indiana lead to 36-33 to open the second half, the Hoosiers used an 8-0 run for their largest lead of the game, 44-33 with 17:21 to go.
• Indiana shot 56 percent from the field in the first half and went into halftime with a 36-29 lead.
• The Hoosiers are 63-8 at Assembly Hall since the start of the 2011-12 season
• Indiana is 6-0 in Big Ten games decided by 10 points or less
• Indiana outrebounded Michigan 32-21 and have outrebounded their opponent in 17 of 24 games overall and nine of 11 in Big Ten play.
• Sophomore Troy Williams led the Hoosiers with 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Williams recorded his fourth game this season with at least 20 points. Williams also added eight rebounds three assists and two steals.
• Williams eight free throws is a career-high and it is the first time he has been perfect from the line in games with at least five attempts.
• Junior Kevin Yogi Ferrell scored 18 points and dished out six assists. It is the ninth game this season he has tallied at least six assists.
• With his six assists today, Ferrell now has 386 career assists. This moves him past Steve Alford and into 10th place on the all-time career assists list at Indiana. Verdell Jones III is in ninth with 389 and Stew Robinson is eighth with 391.
• Ferrell scored nine points in the last six minutes of the first half.
• Ferrell moved into 34th on the Indiana all-time scoring list and now has 1,209 for his career. He is eight points back of Tom Coverdale for 33rd> on the scoring list.
• Ferrell continued his nation leading streak of games with a three-pointer, which is now at 55 games.
• Freshman James Blackmon Jr. scored in doubles figures for the 19th time this season with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
• Sophomore Collin Hartman scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds and tallied two blocked shots.
• Freshman Robert Johnson scored seven points.
• Next on the schedule is a roadtrip to Maryland on Wednesday (9:00 p.m., BTN) before playing four of its final five regular season games at Assembly Hall.
