GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Indiana women's swimming and diving team got a pair of top-16 finishes on day one of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Freshman Jessica Parratto earned her first career NCAA points, taking 13th in the 1-meter springboard diving with a score of 314.00. Junior Lacey Houser finished 44th with a score of 234.35.
Freshman Kennedy Goss took sixth in the consolation final of the 500 freestyle, good for 14th overall in the field with a time of 4:40.02. Goss made it back for the consolation final of the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:39.49. Just missing out on the B final was junior Haley Lips, who placed 19th in 4:42.09. Stephanie Marchuk was 29th overall in 4:43.77.
Freshman Sam Lisy was the top IU finisher in the 200 individual medley, placing 48th in 1:59.47. Sophomore Gia Dalesandro took 50th in 1:59.63, while Bailey Pressey was 58th (2:00.39).
Competition for the Hoosiers continues Friday morning with preliminary action in the 400 individual medley, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 800 freestyle relay and 3-meter diving.
