
Drouin Wins Gold at World Championships

BEIJING – Indiana Track and Field alumnus Derek Drouin is used to having success, being a five-time NCAA Champion, 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist and 2013 World Championships Bronze Medalist.
He can now add World Championships Gold Medalist.
Drouin, a native of Corunna, Ontario, won a three-man jump-off at 2.34m (7-8) to give Canada its first gold medal in high jump at the World Championships.
The competition was decided in a jump-off between Drouin, Ukraine's Bohdan Bondarenko and China's Zhang Guowei.
Drouin won bronze at both the 2012 Olympics and 2013 world championships, and then last month captured gold at the Pan American Games in Toronto.
