• The 16 tackles for loss for Indiana are believed to be tied for the most in school history, matching the 16 TFLs against Minnesota on Nov. 14, 1998.
• Over the last four games, IU has recorded 13 sacks and 44 tackles for loss.
• The Hoosiers picked off a pair of passes, their third multi-interception contest this season (FIU, Nebraska).
• Indiana has 10 interceptions and six fumble recoveries in 2016 and has scored 46 points off of the 16 takeaways.
• IU's defense forced six three-and-outs, upping its season total to 55, which matches last year's total.
• The Hoosiers have recorded two games with 10 TFLs-or-more in Big Ten play (at Northwestern, 11) for the first time since 2012.
• Entering the contest, Penn State was averaging 183.4 yards rushing and 4.7 yards per carry. Indiana held the Nittany Lions to 79 yards rushing and just 1.8 yards per carry. Big Ten leading rusher Saquon Barkley entered the game averaging 117.2 yards per game and 6.3 yards a rush. IU limited Barkley to 58 yards rushing and a 1.8 average.
• Redshirt junior quarterback Richard Lagow passed for two touchdowns on the day, moving his total to 17 on the season, which puts him tied for sixth on the IU single-season list.
• Lagow was 23-for-40 for 292 yards. He now ranks fifth in single-season passing yardage with 2,866, seventh in completions (214), 10th in attempts (351) and eighth in total offense (2,760).
• Fifth-year senior wide receiver Ricky Jones caught his third touchdown of the season – the eighth of his career. With his three receptions, Jones now has 101 for his career, joining Mitchell Paige (106) with over 100 receptions.
• Sophomore wide receiver Nick Westbrook caught his fifth touchdown of the season and the sixth of his career. Westbrook had three catches for 85 yards on the day.
• The 40-yard touchdown connection between Westbrook and Lagow in the fourth quarter marked the fourth TD of over 40 yards for Westbrook and the sixth for Lagow this season.
• Devine Redding added 108 rushing yards on 23 carries. Redding now has eight career 100-yard rushing games, including five this season.
• With his two touchdowns, the junior has rushed for five TDs this season and 15 for his career. The multi-TD game is his third this season and the sixth of his career.
• The two-rushing scores is a season-high and is the fourth multi-rushing touchdown game of his career.
• Redshirt junior Camion Patrick had career-highs with three receptions and 91 yards.
• Junior safety Tony Fields had his second interception of the season and the third of his career. Fields finished with eight tackles, all solo (career-high).
• Redshirt junior cornerback Rashard Fant recorded his second interception of the season and the third of his career. He added one pass breakup, upping his career passes defended total to 46.
• Junior linebacker Tegray Scales set a career-high with four tackles for loss. He is the 10th Hoosier to record at least four TFLs in a game, which is tied for the fifth-most in program history. The last IU player to do so was T.J. Simmons at Michigan State on Oct. 24, 2015. It marked the sixth multi-tackles for loss game of his career. Scales also collected a team-high nine tackles, his seventh game leading the team in 2016, and his fourth sack of the season (9th of his career).
• Junior defensive lineman Greg Gooch set a career-high with 1.5 tackles for loss and posted three stops overall.
• Sophomore defensive lineman Nile Sykes recorded his fourth sack of the season and had two TFLs on the game – his second multi-tackle for loss game of his career and season.
• Redshirt junior linebacker Marcus Oliver has a career-high three tackles for loss on the day, marking his fourth multi-TFL game of his career. Oliver had seven tackles in total.
• Fifth-year senior defensive lineman Ralph Green III had two tackles for loss, marking his fourth career multi-TFL game.
• True freshman cornerback A'Shon Riggins and sophomore safety Jonathan Crawford each recorded two pass breakups. The game marked Riggins' and Crawford's second career multi-PBU games.
• Sophomore defensive lineman Jacob Robinson recorded his first career sack.
• Redshirt junior Griffin Oakes connected on all four extra point attempts and his lone field goal try, a 47-yarder. He moves into a tie for fifth with 103 made extra points and fifth in total points scored with 250 on the IU career lists. His 49 career made field goals rank second in school history.
• Fifth-year senior Dan Feeney (6th time in 2016), fifth-year senior Ricky Jones (6th time), fifth-year senior Mitchell Paige (4th time) and redshirt junior Marcus Oliver (10th time) served as today's game captains.
• Indiana won the coin toss for the eighth time this season and deferred until the second half for the eighth time this season.
