Indiana at No. 3 Michigan
November 19, 2016
• Indiana faced its fourth top 10 team this season, a program first.
• IU limited Michigan to 20 points, 59 passing yards and 284 total yards. The Wolverines entered the game averaging 44.5 points, 231.5 passing yards and 467.8 total yards per game.
• The Hoosiers have held Michigan and Ohio State (93) under 100 passing yards in 2016. The 59 passing yards are the fewest allowed by Indiana since holding Wisconsin to 41 on Nov. 10, 2012.
• Marcus Oliver posted a game-high 12 tackles (8 solo) to go along with 1.5 tackles for loss. It marked the redshirt junior's seventh career double-digit tackle game.
• With 10 (7 solo) stops, Tegray Scales tallied his seventh double-figure tackle game this season (8th career), which puts him in a tie for first in the Big Ten. He added one TFL. Scales went over the century mark for the first time in his career and has 104 on the season.
• Oliver posted 112 tackles in 2015 giving the Hoosiers back-to-back seasons with a 100-tackle defender for the first time since 1996-98: Jamie Baisley (105) – Jabar Robinson (101) – Jabar Robinson (117).
• Redshirt junior defensive tackle Nate Hoff registered eight tackles (5 solo), both career-highs, with 1.5 stops for loss.
• In the first start of his career, junior linebacker Chris Covington made a career-high six tackles, all solo, and picked up his first career sack and first career forced fumble.
• Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Mike Barwick, Jr., recorded his second sack of the season and career in the opening quarter.
• Patrick Dougherty collected five tackles, 1.5 for loss and three solo, all career-bests.
• The Hoosiers finished with two sacks and eight tackles for loss. Over the last five games, Indiana has 15 sacks and 52 TFLs.
• Sophomore Nick Westbrook led the Hoosiers with 78 receiving yards and shared the team lead with four receptions. Westbrook has reached 70 yards seven times this year.
• Fifth-year seniors Mitchell Paige (41 yards) and Ricky Jones (40 yards) also hauled in four grabs.
• Devine Redding closed out the game with 50 rushing yards. The junior is just 49 yards shy of the 18th 1,000-yard season in program history, his second straight. Redding would become the fourth Hoosier with back-to-back years over 1,000 yards and the first since Vaughn Dunbar (1990-91).
• Redshirt junior Camion Patrick put the Hoosiers on the board with a 2-yard rushing touchdown, the first rushing score of his career. The wide receiver/running back also has a 40-yard receiving TD this season. Patrick carried the ball four times for 10 yards.
• Redshirt junior Griffin Oakes became the second Hoosier to reach the 50 field goal mark with a 24-yarder in the third quarter. Oakes is second on the program's career list behind Mitch Ewald's 53 (2010-13). Oakes also moved into fifth with 104 extra points and sits fifth with 254 total points.
• Indiana won the coin toss for the ninth time this season and deferred until the second half for the ninth time this season.
• Fifth-year senior Dan Feeney (7th time in 2016), fifth-year senior Ricky Jones (7th time), redshirt junior Marcus Oliver (11th time) and junior Tegray Scales (4th time) served as today's game captains.
