INDIANA IN THE ACC/BIG TEN CHALLENGE
Thursday's game will mark the 10th game of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge for the Hoosiers, who hold an all-time 6-3 record in the event. It's the third-best record amongst any Big Ten school - only Maryland (8-1) and Michigan (7-2) have fared better.
BUSS CAN CLIMB THE BOOKS
Junior guard Tyra Buss can continue to put her mark on the IU record books as she sits in reaching distance of a few categories. She needs just seven points to reach the top 20 in all-time scoring as she holds 1,092 points heading into Thursday's game. She is also just 17 steals and 27 assists away from reaching the top 10 on both respective career lists.
43 AND COUNTING
Junior guard Tyra Buss continues to reach new scoring heights as she extended her double-figure scoring streak to 43 games, including 14 points in Wednesday's win over UMass Lowell. She extended her streak - which dates back to her freshman season - and marks the 61st overall game she's reached double figures - out of the 70 games played in her career. The current IU record stands at 49 consecutive double figure scoring games and is held by Karna Abram who did it between 1985-86 and 1986-87.
JENN FROM THE BENCH
Senior forward Jenn Anderson continues to provide productive minutes off the bench for Indiana this season. The Sheridan, Ind. native scored a season-high 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting in IU's win over Chattanooga and tied a career-high 11 rebounds against Western Kentucky. For the season, Anderson is also shooting a team-high 65.6 percent from the floor, which is the x best average in the Big Ten. In addition, she averages 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per outing and saw a season-high 27 minutes play against the Hilltoppers.
CAHILL'S CONSISTENCY
Junior forward Amanda Cahill has been a constant presence for the Hoosiers not only this season but in her career. Through six games this season, the Clyde, Ohio native has scored in double figures and grabbed at least six rebounds in every game. She recorded her 18th career double-double in the season opener (12 points, 11 rebounds) against Presbyterian and is shooting 53 percent from the field on the season. In addition, Cahill is the team's leading rebounder (7.5) and the third-leading scorer (13.0).
FOURTH QUARTER SINKS INDIANA AT AUBURN
Despite a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter, Indiana couldn't hang on as it was outscored 32-9 in the final quarter in a 71-67 loss at Auburn on Sunday. Junior guard Tyra Buss paced the Hoosiers with 23 points while senior guard Karlee McBride scored a season-high 11 including nine of those points from beyond the arc.
PRE-THANKSGIVING VICTORY
A trio of Hoosier scored in double figures behind senior guard Alexis Gassion scoring her 1,000th point as IU rolled to a 79-45 win over UMass Lowell on Wednesday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Gassion's 18 points pushed her to the 1,000-point mark in her career while junior forward Amanda Cahill added 15 points and junior guard Tyra Buss contributed 14 points in the victory.
GASSION HITS 1,000
Senior guard Alexis Gassion became the 25th player to score 1,000 points in Wednesday's win over UMass Lowell. Gassion's team-high 18 points was enough to push her over the career mark and puts two 1,000 point active scorers on Indiana's roster. Junior guard Tyra Buss scored her 1,000th career point earlier this season and the duo becomes the first 1,000 point scorers in program history since 2008-09.
