Brown Named to Big Ten All-Tournament Team

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Indiana redshirt sophomore Mykayla Brown has been named to the 2016 Big Ten All-Tournament Team, the conference announced today following the championship match between Minnesota and Rutgers. Brown is the first All-Tournament selection for Indiana since Kayleigh Steigerwalt earned the honor in 2013.
Brown netted a goal for Indiana in the quarterfinal at No. 1 seeded Minnesota on Oct. 30. A service from freshman Meghan Scott on a corner kick set up Brown's header in the 81st minute of action. The score was the Indianapolis native's eighth of the season as she registered four goals in the final three games of the year. In addition, three of her goals proved to be game-winners for IU, tied for fourth-most in the conference.
Indiana's appearance in the Big Ten Tournament was the first for the program since 2013, when the Hoosiers advanced to the semifinals. IU finished the 2016 campaign with a 4-4-3 record in the Big Ten, the most conference victories since 2013.
