BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana's Caleb Baragar has been named the Big Ten Co-Pitcher of the Week, the Conference office announced on Monday. This is the first Pitcher of the Week honor of Baragar's career and Indiana's second of the year as Kyle Hart also earned the honor on March 7.
Baragar took a perfect game into the seventh inning against Toledo on Sunday, where he surrendered just the one hit he gave up on a single to left. The senior finished the day with a career-high 11 strikeouts to go along with two walks. The lefty faced just 27 batters in the eight innings he pitched.
In his last three combined starts, Baragar has allowed eight hits in 21 innings, striking out 23 and walking four while holding his opponents scoreless. During his last 24.2 innings of work, Baragar has not surrendered an earned run.
Indiana is back in action this Wednesday as it hosts Butler at 6:05 p.m. from Bart Kaufman Field.
