INDIANAPOLIS – Three Indiana University divers qualified for individual event finals later this week at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis on Monday.
Jessica Parratto and IU alumna Amy Cozad qualified for the finals in the 10-meter, while Michael Hixon qualified for the final in the 3-meter springboard. Both finals will be on Saturday at the IU Natatorium.
Parratto and Cozad sit in first and third place, respectively, after the semifinals with Parratto leading with a total of 714.95. Cozad sits in third place with a total of 645.80. On the men's side, Hixon is securely in second place in the 3-meter, scoring a total of 966.15.
To earn a spot on Team USA in an individual event and punch a ticket to the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, the Hoosier divers will have to place first or second overall.
Parratto had an outstanding day on Monday at the Trials and will take a 69.00 advantage in to Saturday's finals. Cozad enters Saturday night's final just 0.15 points behind Murphy Bromberg in second place.

Right behind her was Cozad in second place with a total of 338.60. Parratto, the 2015 NCAA Champion in the platform dive, was the only competitor in the prelims to average over 70 points on each of her dives (73.95).
As well as making the finals in the 10-meter dive as individuals, Parratto and Cozad lead the field in the synchronized platform. The final of that event will be on Wednesday night at the IU Natatorium.
Hixon will enter Saturday's final in the 3-meter in second place after a great outing in the semifinals, 109.80 points clear of Mark Anderson who sits in third place with a total of 856.95.
In the prelims of the men's 3-meter, Hixon had a tremendous showing, running out to the lead with a career-best score of 523.80, averaging 87.30 points on each of his six dives. Heading in to the semifinals, Hixon led Ipsen of Stanford by 36.20 points.
