Miller Named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana freshman third baseman Luke Miller has been named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball, which was announced on Wednesday. Miller becomes Indiana's 11th Freshman All-American, and its first since 2013 when Scott Effross earned the honor.
Miller finished the year hitting at a .283 clip, which was good for second on the team. His 11 doubles were also second on the team while his 23 RBIs placed him sixth. Miller posted 38 games with at least one hit in his rookie campaign and 17 games with at least one RBI. The .333 batting average in conference games only for Miller was a team-best.
In addition to his 13 multi-hit games in 2016, Miller posted a season-high reached base streak of 14 games and a hit streak of seven. Heading into next season, Miller will bring in a current hitting streak of four games and a reached base streak of 13 games.
This is Miller's second postseason award as he was additionally named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team at the end of May.
