BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana men's tennis head coach Jeremy Wurtzman has announced the addition of two transfers into the program. Oliver Sec comes from the University of California Santa Barbara and Keivon Tabrizi joins the Hoosiers from Wake Forest.
The duo joins a Hoosier program that has the No. 14 recruiting class coming in this fall.
Sec, a sophomore from New York, N.Y., was a five-star recruit, who was ranked as high as No. 29 on TennisRecruiting.net. In his freshman season at UCSB he had notable singles wins over Simon Stevens (Oregon), Errol Smith (Loyola Marymount), and Joao Barra (Washington).
"Oliver comes to IU with a big game that will translate well in the Big Ten conference," Wurtzman said. "His experience as a top level junior tennis player and one year of college tennis will help with a quick transition to the team."
Tabrizi, a junior from Fresno, Calif., is currently ranked 2141 in singles and 1626 in doubles by the ATP. He has been as high as 1143 in singles and 1091 in doubles. During his career as a Demon Deacon he tallied notable wins over George Goldhoff (Texas), Thomas Weigel (NC State) and Maxx Lipman (Florida). For his career at Wake Forest, he went 25-12 in singles and 30-11 in doubles play.
"Keivon has a huge passion for tennis and to play on the ATP tour after IU," Wurtzman said. "He comes to the Hoosiers with a wealth of international experience, playing many futures and challenger level events. We look for Keivon to be a top player over the next two years at Indiana."
The Hoosiers incoming freshmen class includes Zac Brodney (Los Angeles, California), Bennett Crane (Huntersville, North Carolina), William Piekarsky(Bloomington, Indiana) and Payam Ahmadi (Reston, Virginia).
