Parratto Qualifies Third Overall for 10m Semifinal at Rio Summer Olympics

RIO DE JANEIRO – Indiana University sophomore diver Jessica Parratto finished third overall in the 10m platform preliminary on Wednesday at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.
By qualifying third, Parratto clinched a berth in to the semifinal on Thursday morning. Parratto finished with a score of 346.80 points to place third out of 28 total divers. The top-18 will compete in the semifinals, with the top-12 then moving on to the final on Thursday afternoon. Scored do not carry over from each round.
"Jessica had a very nice preliminary round," IU head diving and Team USA head coach Drew Johansen remarked. "Jessica was very composed throughout the round."
Parratto put together a very consistent list on Wednesday, with all five dives scoring more than 60 points. Parratto saved her best score for last, totaling 78.40 points in the fifth and final round to qualify for the semifinals in the third spot.
