IU’s Connor Places 15th in 10m Platform at Rio Olympics

RIO DE JANEIRO – Indiana University diver James Connor placed 15th overall in the 10m platform dive on Saturday at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.
Connor placed 15th overall with a total score of 419.10. Connor was incredibly consistent on Saturday, posting score of 70 points or more in four of his six dives.
The Rio Games are the second for Connor, who also represented Australia in the 2012 London Olympics in the 10m platform dive, where he placed 20th overall.
With Connor's 15th place finish, the Indiana swimming and diving team's Rio Olympics have come to a close.
At the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, the IU swimmers and divers won a total of seven medals – four golds, one silver and two bronze. Lilly King headlined the group with two gold medals, while Cody Miller won gold and bronze. Blake Pieroni earned a gold medal as a member of Team USA's 4x100 freestyle relay team, junior Kennedy Goss earned a bronze medal as a member of Team Canada's 4x200 freestyle relay team and junior diver Michael Hixon won silver in the men's 3m synchronized springboard.
The IU swimming and diving program has now won 69 medals in Olympic history, including 39 gold, 10 silver and 20 bronze. In total, Indiana University has won 103 total medals across all events.
