Hoosiers Post Strong Results at Rio Summer Olympics on Tuesday

RIO DE JANEIRO – Indiana University had another great day at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
IU's Jessica Parratto and alumna Amy Cozad placed seventh overall in the women's 10m synchronized platform, while Hoosier swimmer Anze Tavcar finished 36th in the men's 100 freestyle.
In the women's 10m synchronized platform, the duo of Parratto and Cozad placed seventh overall at the Rio Olympics with a score of 301.02. Parratto, a sophomore at IU, and Cozad, a 2013 graduate, saved their best dive for last, scoring a 73.92 in their fifth dive.
Leading the way for Team USA Diving at Rio is IU head diving coach Drew Johansen, who has been the head coach for America the last two Olympics.
Parratto will be back in action in Rio on Wednesday, Aug. 17 when she will dive in the prelims of the women's individual 10m platform.
Earlier in the day, Tavcar finished up his Olympics by placing 36th in the men's 100 freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 49.38 for Team Slovenia. Earlier in the week, Tavcar finished 39th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.96.
