Indiana Postgame Notes
Jan. 18, 2017
• Indiana improves to 13-6 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten. The win is the first win in a true road game this season and their second away from Assembly Hall (season opener vs. Kansas in Hawaii).
• The win also extends the Hoosiers lead in the all-time series with Penn State to 36-11.
• Indiana shot 50 percent (15-of-30) from the floor in the first half, marking the 18th half this season where they have met or exceeded the 50.0 percent mark.
• With Blackmon Jr., Bryant and Johnson all scoring 17 points, it's the second time in Big Ten play this year that the Hoosiers had three players score 17 points or more after also doing it against Illinois.
• With a 37-33 edge in rebounding for the game, Indiana has now tied or out-rebounded its opponents in 18 out of 19 games this season.
• Indiana has now made at least nine 3-point field goals in 11 out of 19 games this season after connecting on nine against the Nittany Lions.
• IU was 30-of-61 shooting from the floor, marking the sixth time this year that they have made at least 30 field goals in a game.
• For the 13th time this year, the Indiana bench outscored the opponents bench, as the Hoosiers subs posted 18 points while Penn State's had 14.
• IU turned 13 offensive rebounds into 23 second chance points.
• James Blackmon Jr. finished the game with 17 points, giving him 1,039 points for his career to move into 47th on the all-time list at IU. He also added five rebounds and three assists in 36 minutes – the most minutes he has played since the season opener on Nov. 11.
• Robert Johnson also finished with 17 points and matched his season-high with seven rebounds. He was 3-of-6 from behind the 3-point line, making it five straight games with at least two 3-point field goals made.
• Thomas Bryant was the third Hoosier in double figures, tallying 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field. He also added nine rebounds, narrowly missing his fifth double-double of the year.
• De'Ron Davis came off the bench to score seven points and grab four rebounds in 14 minutes of action.
• Devonte Green provided solid minutes off the bench for the second straight game, dropping five points to match his high for a Big Ten game, and grabbing two boards.
• While didn't find the scoring column, Zach McRoberts grabbed two rebounds, handed out two assists, blocked two shots and had two steals in 15 minutes.
• Before his injury just prior to halftime, OG Anunoby had racked up six points and three rebounds in 15 minutes.
• Freddie McSwain only had two points, but he had an impact on the defensive end on the interior.
