LAST TIME OUT
• The Hoosiers traveled north last week as they dropped a 3-2 decision to Minnesota before battling Wisconsin to a scoreless draw on Sunday.
THIS WEEK'S PROMOS
• Thursday's contest against Iowa will feature free IU Soccer scarves to the first 300 fans. In addition, it is International Night and fans are invited to showcase jerseys and flags from their native countries. At halftime, Indiana faculty and staff that have been invited by the team will be honored with a special presentation.
• Prior to Sunday's game, seniors Kylie Kirk and Kayla Smith will be honored as part of Senior Day. The two co-captains have been an integral part of the Indiana program, starting every game of the 2017 season. Off the field, they have guided the Hoosiers to numerous academic accolades, including four Herbert Cups and three United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards.
• Sunday will also mark the end of Alumni Weekend celebrations as former IU Women's Soccer players will be honored during halftime.
HOOSIER NOTABLES
• After netting a goal against Minnesota Friday, sophomore Chandra Davidson is now tied with junior Maya Piper for the team lead in both goals (6) and points (14).
• Sophomore Macy Miller registered her first career goal against the Golden Gophers. Miller, who named to the All-Big Ten Freshmen Team last season, scored in the 13th minute off assists from Piper and senior Kayla Smith.
• Another career first against Minnesota came courtesy of senior Kylie Kirk, who notched her first career assist on Davidson's goal.
• 11 different Hoosiers have recorded an assist this season. Mykayla Brown has registered four assists this year, a career-best for the redshirt junior. Indiana's 19 assists already matches the total from the 2016 campaign.
• The Hoosiers were shut out Sunday against Wisconsin, the first for the IU offense since Sept. 3 in a 2-0 loss against Memphis.
• On the other side of the ball, freshman goalkeeper Bethany Kopel has recorded five shutouts this season and has 65 saves, which is good for third in the Big Ten. The Novi, Mich. native ranks fifth nationally for most goalkeeper minutes played (1410:00) and has logged the second-most minutes amongst fellow freshmen keepers. She leads the Big Ten in minutes played.
• Indiana has drawn 85 corner kicks this season, which is second most in the conference. In addition, IU averages 5.67 corner kicks per game, which is ranked 47th nationally.
• The Hoosiers rank third in the Big Ten with total shots on the season at 212.
• Off the field, Indiana earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award last week, marking the sixth straight accolade. The honor is given to teams who posted a team GPA of at least 3.5 during the 2016-17 school year.
SCOUTING IOWA
• The Hawkeyes had a huge weekend in Iowa City, taking down No. 23 Rutgers, 1-0, before defeating Maryland, 4-0.
• Devin Burns, who scored twice over the weekend, leads Iowa with eight goals and four points, while Kaleigh Haus has added five goals and four assists. Olivia Fiegel has also been dangerous, netting four goals.
• Claire Graves has registered five shutouts in goal, making 41 saves with a 1.18 goals against average. Graves was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after her two shutouts.
• Iowa leads the all-time series, 10-8-1.
• The last meeting resulted in a scoreless draw in Bloomington in 2015.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
• The Huskers, who have been ranked or received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll for much of the season, went 1-0-1 last weekend. Nebraska earned a 3-0 victory against Maryland before drawing with No. 23 Rutgers, 1-1.
• Nebraska is on a five-game undefeated streak, going 2-0-3 during that time.
• The Huskers are out-scoring their opponents, 26-8, and hold a 76-40 advantage on corner kicks.
• Haley Hanson has paced the Nebraska offense with eight goals and two assists. Elyse Huber is second with 13 points (6 goals and one assist).
• In goal, Aubrei Corder has six shutouts this season with 32 saves and a 0.54 goals against average.
• Nebraska leads the all-time series, 6-1-0. The Huskers came away with a 1-0 victory last season in Lincoln.
WHAT'S AHEAD IN 2017?
• After this weekend, Indiana will play host to Rutgers on Saturday, Oct. 21. The Hoosiers will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Ohio State.
