Game Notes: Indiana at Maryland

Setting The Scene
•Indiana (3-4, 0-4 B1G East) closes out its two-game road trip at Maryland (3-4, 1-3 B1G East) on Saturday, Oct 28. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium (51,802; FieldTurf) on BTN.
•This is the sixth meeting between the two programs and the third game on the Terrapins home turf.
•IU leads the all-time series, 4-1, with a 42-36 victory on Oct. 29, 2016 (H), a 47-28 win on Nov. 21, 2015 (A), a 13-6 victory on Nov. 9, 1935 (A) and a 17-14 win on Nov. 17, 1934 (H).
•UM defeated the Hoosiers, 37-15, in Bloomington on Sept. 27, 2014.
The Coaches
•Tom Allen made his debut as Indiana head coach at the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl. He was named IU's 29th head coach on Dec. 1, 2016. The New Castle, Ind., native joined the Hoosiers as associate head coach/defense on Jan. 15, 2016. A 2016 Broyles Award nominee, Allen engineered one of the top defensive turnarounds in the country, as Indiana improved substantially in every major statistical category. (full bio on page 16)
•D.J. Durkin owns a 9-11 (.450) record in his second season as Maryland head coach. Durkin served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Michigan (2015) and Florida (2013-14) prior to his arrival.
