Hoosiers Travel to No. 13 Ohio State on Wednesday

LAST TIME OUT
• Indiana fell to No. 25 Rutgers in overtime Saturday, 1-0. The loss dropped the Hoosiers out of contention for the Big Ten Tournament. It marked the first time IU had lost an overtime contest since 2014 as the Hoosiers went 2-0-14 in that time.
A LOOK AT KOPEL'S NUMBERS
• Bethany Kopel earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors last Tuesday for her first accolade of her career. Kopel is currently third in the Big Ten with 88 saves on the year, which is 41st nationally and sixth amongst fellow freshman keepers.
• Kopel has 50 saves in Big Ten play, which is eighth in Indiana program history.
• Kopel has five shutouts in a season, the most for an IU freshman since 2007 and tied for 10th-most in a single season.
• She has played every minute in goal for the Hoosiers and ranks ninth nationally in goalkeeper minutes played (1705:24).
OFFENSIVELY SPEAKING
• Junior Maya Piper is pacing the Hoosier offense with 16 points (7 goals, 2 assists).
• Sophomore Chandra Davidson is close behind with 14 points (6 goals, 2 assists).
• 12 different Hoosiers have recorded an assist this season, the best distribution since 14 had at least one assist in 2013. Mykayla Brown has registered four assists this year, a career-best for the redshirt junior. Indiana's 21 assists is the most since IU had 46 in 2013.
• Indiana has drawn 103 corner kicks this season, which is second most in the conference. In addition, IU averages 5.72 corner kicks per game, which is tied for 43rd nationally.
• The Hoosiers rank third in the Big Ten with total shots on the season at 249.
• Wednesday's game marks the fourth contest against a ranked opponent this season. The Hoosiers are 1-1-1 in those games, falling to No. 13 Clemson and No. 25 Rutgers, while defeating No. 23 Southern Methodist on Sept. 8.
OHIO CONNECTION
• The Hoosiers have players on the roster who hail from the state of Ohio - Abby Allen, Caroline Dreher, Grace Geise and Sydney Kilgore. Its the second most represented state on the roster behind Indiana.
SCOUTING THE BUCKEYES
• Ohio State comes in to Wednesday's contest winners of seven of their last eight games.
• Last Friday, the Buckeyes secured at least a share of the conference title with a 2-1 victory at Minnesota.
• To clinch its first outright title in program history, Ohio State needs to win or draw with the Hoosiers or have Penn State lose or draw at Wisconsin.
• The Buckeyes have seen seven players net at least two goals this season, led by eight scores and five assists by Sammy Edwards. Close behind is Eleanor Gabriel, who has scored six goals and added two assists. Nikki Walts is the current assist leader with seven on the year.
• Devon Kerr has made 43 saves on the year and allowed just eight goals for a 0.49 goals against average.
• Kerr's nine shutouts ranks second in the conference.
• OSU leads the all-time series, 13-12-2.
• Last season, the Hoosiers came away with a 3-2 victory at Ohio State, the first win against Ohio State since 2010 and the first in Columbus since 2002.
• Chandra Davidson and Allison Jorden put Indiana up 2-0 early before the Buckeyes equalized in the 68th minute. However, the Hoosiers would respond as Sydney Kilgore netted the gamewinner in the 73rd minute.
