Postgame notes following the Hoosiers 93-62 win over Marian University on Saturday night in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall...
• This was the first exhibition game for the Hoosiers under head coach Archie Miller.
• IU is now 24-0 in exhibition games against NCAA II, NCAA III and NAIA programs since 2004.
• IU shot 54.1 percent from the field and won the battle of the boards, 41-32.
• The Hoosiers had eight blocked shots.
• IU had 17 assists to 10 turnovers.
• The Hoosiers started senior Josh Newkirk, senior Robert Johnson, sophomore Devonte Green, sophomore De'Ron Davis and junior Juwan Morgan.
• Senior Collin Hartman (ankle) and freshman Aljami Durham (hamstring) were held out for precautionary reasons.
• Green poured in a team-high 22 points and also led the Hoosiers in rebounds (6) and assists (7). Green's brother Danny, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs was in attendance. The Spurs play the Pacers on Sunday.
• Newkirk and sophomore Curtis Jones each finished with 13 points. Neither committed a turnover in a combined 49 minutes of play.
• Davis had 10 points and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes. Morgan had 6 points and 4 boards but was saddled with four fouls. Johnson also had 6 points, 5 boards and 4 assists and did not commit a turnover in 26 minutes.
• Senior Freddie McSwain Jr. added 5 points and 5 boards in 15 minutes.
• Freshman Justin Smith had 9 points and 2 rebounds off the bench. He led the team by making all 5 of his free throws. Fellow frosh Clifton Moore had 5 points, 5 boards and a blocked shot after entering the game in the second half.
• Senior Tim Priller and redshirt junior Josh McRoberts also added 2 points off the bench.
• Freshman walkon Ethan Lasko hit a free throw and redshirt sophomore walkon, Johnny Jager saw his first action in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Junior walkon Quentin Taylor had an assist in two minutes of late action.
