Cross Country Moves Up In Weekly Rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – In week four of the weekly installment of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, the men's rose six spots and the women remained in the highest ranking in program history, coming in at No. 14.
The men's team moved up six spots in the rankings from last week to No. 21 after a first-place finish at the Sam Bell Invitational. They are ranked third amongst the Big Ten following Illinois (16th) and Michigan State (17th). Other conference schools in the ranks include Michigan (2th) and Wisconsin (28th). The same poll has the team ranked second in the Great Lakes Region behind Michigan State.
The Indiana women came in at No. 14 in this week's poll, as they recently finished second at the Sam Bell Invitational. IU ranks third in the Big Ten conference following Michigan (fourth) and Penn State (tenth). Other conference schools in the ranks include Wisconsin (17th) and Minnesota (20th). The same pol has the team ranked second in the Great Lakes Region behind Michigan.
The Hoosiers will be back in action next Friday at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis. The women's 6K will begin at 12:00p.m. and the men's 8K will begin promptly at 1:00p.m.
