BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Redshirt junior Katherine Receveur earned herself the title of Big Ten Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, announced by the league on Wednesday.
The Louisville, Ky. native is coming off a record setting performance on Saturday at the Sam Bell Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. Receveur finished first overall in the women's 6K race with a time of 20:14.08 setting a Hoosier record and a new all-time course record on the IU Championships Cross Country 6K Course. Receveur's time broke the previous Hoosier record of 21:01.6 that was held by Sarah Pease (2009) and the previous all-time record of 20:42.70 that was held by Emily MacLeod of Michigan State (2009).
Receveur is the fourth Hoosier to be selected as the Big Ten Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week twice in their career and the first Hoosier to be selected two weeks in a row. Amanda Bell (Oct 1999, Sept 2000), Jessica Gall (Sept 2004, Sept 2004) and Kelsey Duerksen (Sept 2013, Oct 2013) have all earned honors twice.
