Indiana vs. Indiana State
• Indiana began its 118th season of men's basketball.
• IU is now 17-6 all-time against Indiana State.
• The Hoosiers record in season openers is now 97-21.
• Indiana took control in the paint, outscoring the Sycamores 32-16.
• IU won the steal battle 10-9 with sophomore Devonte Green leading the way with three steals.
• Off the bench, the Hoosiers tallied 24 points compared to the 13 bench points by the Sycamores.
• 13 of the first 15 points for the Hoosiers were scored by senior Robert Johnson (5) and sophomore De'Ron Davis (8)
• Davis led the team with 14 points, one shy of the career-high he set against Iowa last March. Davis shot 6-for-7 from the field in the game.
• Sophomore Curtis Jones had 11 points, the third time he has scored 10+ points in a games. Jones was also 3-for-4 at the charity stripe.
• Junior Juwan Morgan scored 13 points for the Hoosiers and also tied his career-high for steals with two.
• In his first career game, freshman Aljami Durham played 13 minutes, scoring six points and going 4-for-5 at the free throw line.
• Johnson scored seven points tonight, giving him sole possession of 51th place on the IU all-time scoring list with 985 career points.
• With a three pointer, Johnson extended his career 3FG made to 174, the tenth most in Indiana history.
• IU will open the Hoosier Tip-Off Classic on Sunday at 8 p.m. against Howard in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
