BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University men's tennis head coach Jeremy Wurtzman has announced the signings of Carson Haskins (Ballwin, Mo./Parkway South High School) and Patrick Fletchall (Carmel, Ind./Carmel High School).
"We are very excited to sign Carson and Patrick," Wurtzman said. "Their strength of character and high level of play is going to make an immediate positive impact for the Hoosiers."
Haskins is a Blue Chip recruit and has been throughout his entire junior career. He is the 13th ranked recruit in the nation and top ranked player in both Missouri and the Plains section.
In 2016, Haskins took the Asics Easter Bowl title for the 16-year-old division. The last boy from the Missouri Valley section to take that title was current ATP pro Jack Sock.
"Carson has been a proven winner at the elite national level in singles and doubles," Wurtzman said. "He has competed and won some of the biggest tournaments in the country. We feel that he will come to IU already having a wealth of experience. With his work ethic and competitive nature, Carson has the potential to be a great collegiate tennis player."
Fletchall is a five-star recruit and ranked 49th in the class. In the past year, he has climbed 56 spots in his recruiting class and is a two time high school state singles champion.

"Patrick has an enormous amount of potential to continue to develop his tennis," Wurtzman said. "He has climbed up the national rankings over the past year which shows his determination and commitment to his tennis and with his game style it will translate well in to college tennis.
Another great characteristic about Patrick is his passion for the Hoosiers and all that it embodies."
Haskins and Fletchall are the seventh and eighth 4-star or higher recruits that Wurtzman and Murray have brought in as coaches of the Hoosiers.
The 2017 Hoosiers open their dual season when they host Ball State and Eastern Illinois on Jan. 15.
