Postgame Notes
• Indiana got its first win of the 2017 season and Archie Miller recorded his first victory as head coach of the Hoosiers.
• IU now has a 14-0 record against the MEAC.
• The Hoosiers lead the series against Howard, 3-0.
• Indiana had four players (Aljami Durham, Justin Smith, Robert Johnson, De'Ron Davis) in double-figures. Two of those double-digit scorers were freshmen (Durham and Smith).
• The last time two freshmen have scored double digits for the Hoosiers was in last season's Big Ten Tournament win over Iowa when De'Ron Davis scored 15 and Devonte Green tallied 10 points.
• Freshman Justin Smith grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with his 16 points. With a double-double, Smith became the first IU freshman to have a double-double since Thomas Bryant on March 1, 2016 (Bryant had 12pts, 10 reb.)
• The last freshman to notch a double-double in one of his first two games was Noah Vonleh on Nov. 12, 2013 against LIU Brooklyn when he had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
• Sophomore Devonte Green scored the first seven points of the game for the Hoosiers.
• Robert Johnson scored 14 points to give him 999 on his career, one point shy of making him the 51st player to score 1,000 points at IU.
• For the second game in a row, De'Ron Davis scored in double figures and set his career-high for points in a game with 17. The 17 points was also a game-high for the Hoosiers, the second game in a row he's had the team-high for IU.
• Freshman Clifton Moore made his first appearance as a Hoosier, grabbing a rebound and an assist.
• Starting at 10:36 in the first half, Durham and Smith scored 19 of Indiana's last 27 points in the first half and also made 8 of IU's last 10 field goals.
• To begin the second half, IU made 5-of-6 FG's and then finished the game making their last three shots.
