THREE INK LETTERS FOR #IUWBB
Indiana picked up three members of the class of 2022 on Wednesday during the early signing period. Grace Berger (Louisville, Ky.), Chanel Wilson (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Aleksa Gulbe (Riga, Latvia) have all signed their national letters of intent to play for the Hoosiers next season.
ON PACE TO BREAK RECORDS
Entering her senior season, Buss is set to break records in a variety of categories. Moving to seventh place all-time on Saturday, Buss is now 288 points away from tying the school record in points scored. She also moved into a tied for second all-time in assists (411) and is also on pace to break records in steals, free throws made and free throws attempted. The WBCA Honorable Mention All-American is a two-time All-Big Ten First Team selection and was a nominee for the Wade Trophy and was a Naismith Trophy Preseason Top 50 as a junior.
CAHILL MAKES HER MARK
Senior Amanda Cahill will also move her way up in the IU record books this season, already making her mark in points scored and rebounds. She's just the fifth-ever player to record over 1,300 points and 800 rebounds as she ranks sixth all-time with 8232 rebounds and 15th in scoring (1,334).
WHAT'S RETURNING
Along with Buss and Cahill, the Hoosiers also return junior Kym Royster (averaged 4.2 ppg., 2.6 rpg.) who appeared in 33 games last year and made five starts at the beginning of 2016-17. Sophomore Bre Wickware also returns for IU, as she made appearances in 33 of 34 games last season.
THE SCHEDULE
Indiana will face 13 non-conference opponents in 2017-18, seven of which are coming off postseason appearances last season. The slate starts off with four-straight home games before traveling to the Hilton Concord Classic hosted by Saint Mary's in Moraga, Calif. Highlights also include home games against Louisville (B1G/ACC Challenge) and Auburn before traveling to the West Palm Invite to play Virginia and Missouri. The Hoosier will also face five more postseason teams during Big Ten play (Ohio State, Maryland, Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa).
