OPENING TIP
• The 118th season of Indiana basketball continues on Sunday when the Hoosiers host the Bulls of South Florida in IU's second game of the Hoosier-Tip-Off Classic. The Hoosiers are coming off and 84-68 loss at #22 Seton Hall in the Gavitt Tipoff Games, while USF is coming off a 75-72 road win at Stetson. IU won its first game in the event, defeating Howard, 86-77, November 12. Arkansas State and Eastern Michigan also are part of the MTE (multi-team event) with each team playing four games.
•This will be the first meeting between the two programs. USF is a member of the American Athletic Conference which has been in its current form since 2013. IU is 1-1 against league members. The Hoosiers lost to eventual national champion UConn, 59-58, in the championship game of the 2K Classic in 2013 and defeated SMU, 74-68 in 2014.
• There will be a lot of interest in this game in Dayton, Ohio. USF Coach Brian Gregory was the head coach at Dayton from 2003-11 and was succeeded by IU Coach Archie Miller who led the Flyers from 2011-17.

He was Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2017. He guided the Flyers to a 139-63 record (69.8) and a 68-34 mark (66.7) in the Atlantic 10. He took Dayton to the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years with the Flyers advancing to the Elite Eight in the 2014 Tournament. UD was nationally ranked in three of Miller's six seasons (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16).
• Brian Gregory is in his first year of leading South Florida. He previously was the head coach at Georgia Tech (2011-16) and Dayton (2003-11) and was an assistant coach at Michigan State (1999-2003) and Northwestern (1997-99).
