OPENING TIP
• The 118th season of Indiana basketball continues on Friday when the Hoosiers host the Eagles of Eastern Michigan in IU's final game of the Hoosier-Tip-Off Classic. The Hoosiers are coming off an 87-70 win at home against Arkansas State. IU also has beaten South Florida, 70-53 win and Howard, 86-77, in this event. Both games also were at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
•IU holds a 3-0 record in the series which began in 1970. The last meeting was in December of 2005, when IU won at home 79-63. IU has a 73-12 record against the Mid-American Conference.
• In the last two home games, IU has outscored South Florida and Arkansas State 50-23 in the final 10 minutes. IU bested ASU 28-14 and South Florida 22-9 to close out each game.

• Archie Miller is the 29th head coach in Indiana men's basketball history. The 39-year old native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, comes to IU after serving the previous six seasons as head coach at the University of Dayton, where he won Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championships in 2016 and 2017. He was Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2017. He guided the Flyers to a 139-63 record (69.8) and a 68-34 mark (66.7) in the Atlantic 10. He took Dayton to the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years with the Flyers advancing to the Elite Eight in the 2014 Tournament. UD was nationally ranked in three of Miller's six seasons (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16).
• Rob Murphy is in his seventh year of leading Eastern Michigan. He is 111-97 in 6-plus seasons with the Eagles. He came to Ypsilanti after spending 7 seasons on staff at Syracuse and also was an assistant at Kent State. In this tournament, EMU defeated Arkansas State, 76-59 and Howard, 76-66 at home.

• Senior forward Collin Hartman has not played in the regular season due to a groin injury. He missed one exhibition game due to a sprained ankle, missed all of last season due to knee surgery and played in the 2016 NCAA Tournament with a broken wrist. Since the 2014-15 season, IU is 47-20 in games that he has played and 21-20 in games he has not played in. With 10 points against Arkansas State, senior Robert Johnson is now in 48th place on the IU all-time scoring list with 1,042 points. He surpassed Jay Edwards who scored 1,038 points at IU.
• Junior Juwan Morgan had a career-high 28 points and added 8 rebounds and 2 blocks against Arkansas State. He is averaging 21.5 points and 9 rebounds and has made 19 of 20 free throws in the last 2 games. He had his second career double-double with 15 points and 10 boards against USF. His 7 offensive boards and 4 blocked shots matched or established career-highs.
