
Hoosiers Begin Home Stand With IU Duals

IU Hosts two quad meets in six-day stretch
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The fourth week of the 2017-18 wrestling season brings the Hoosiers their first home action at University Gymnasium, the IU Duals. The quad meet against Eastern Michigan, Binghamton, and Indianapolis will start a six-match stretch in Bloomington as the Hoosiers host two quad meets in a six-day span. And with two top-four tournament finishers and a nailbiting dual meet win on the road, Indiana is ready to wrestle with the comforts of home.
The meet will take place on two mats, with IU remaining on Mat 1 throughout the meet, and the first session will commence at 10:00 a.m. ET. Teams will receive a ten minute intermission between each session. Indiana's mat will feature a live stream on BTN Plus and FloWrestling, along with live point-by-point stats on TrackWrestling.

Road Test Passed
The Hoosiers opened dual meet season last weekend with a dual at Bloomsburg that came down to the wire. The Huskies led the match, 18-16, before Fletcher Miller (285) closed the dual with his 7-5 decision in sudden victory, giving the Hoosiers a 19-18 win.
Cole Weaver (141) offset a Bloomsburg pin with his 2:00 fall, and Bryce Martin (165) scored a major decision to give IU their decisive differential on a 5-5 bout split.
Harboring Podium Places
Most recently, Indiana traveled to Annapolis for the Navy Classic, hosted by the United States Naval Academy. They left with five podium finishes, led by runner-up results from Bryce Martin (165) and Devin Skatzka (174).
Cole Weaver (141) amassed an impressive day with a third-place finish and two wins over ranked opponents, pinning No. 10 Tyler Smith (Bucknell) in the second period. Elijah Oliver (125) and Garrett Pepple (133) rounded out the group with fourth-place podium spots.
IU Wrestling in the Rankings
Currently the Hoosiers have three wrestlers in the national rankings, led by Cole Weaver (141) at No. 13 (Open Mat) and No. 16 in the latest InterMat polls. Weaver earned the first rankings of his career with a 3-1 weekend and wins over No. 17 and No. 10 at Navy.
Bryce Martin's (165) runner-up finish and upset over No. 15 Jonathan Schleifer (Princeton) led to his first career ranking at No. 19 (WIN). Devin Skatzka (174) continued a run with his third week in the rankings, his highest at No. 18 (Open Mat).
IU Duals Overview
Sunday's quad meet will see representation from the Big Ten, Mid American Conference, EIWA, and the GLVC (D-II) when Eastern Michigan, Binghamton, and Indianapolis come to town. This event is Indiana's first home quad meet since the 2013 Hoosier Duals.
Binghamton comes to Bloomington for the first time in history. The Hoosiers won their only meeting, 41-3, in Ashland, Ohio during the 1999-2000 season. The Bearcats (0-1) lost their first dual meet this season at No. 1 Penn State.
Eastern Michigan makes their sixth visit to University Gymnasium for the 12th all-time meeting between the Hoosiers and Eagles. IU has won all 12 encounters. Most recently by a 15-9 score in 2015. The Eagles (2-1) hold dual wins over Gardner-Webb and American this season.
Indianapolis makes their seventh trip to IU but their first since 2008. The Hoosiers have won all 15 meets against the Greyhounds (0-1).
