• The 118th season of Indiana basketball continues on Saturday when the Hoosiers open the Big Ten season at Michigan. The Hoosiers are coming off a 91-81 loss to #1 Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Michigan fell at North Carolina, 86-71 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
• IU holds a 107-59 edge in the series which began in 1918. The Wolverines have a three-game winning streak in the series.

THE COACHES
• Archie Miller is the 29th head coach in Indiana men's basketball history. The 39-year old native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, comes to IU after serving the previous six seasons as head coach at the University of Dayton, where he won Atlantic 10 Conference regular season championships in 2016 and 2017. He was Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 2017. He guided the Flyers to a 139-63 record (69.8) and a 68-34 mark (66.7) in the Atlantic 10. He took Dayton to the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years with the Flyers advancing to the Elite Eight in the 2014 Tournament. UD was nationally ranked in three of Miller's six seasons (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16).
• John Beilein is in his 12th season of guiding the Michigan program and has a 221-137 record since coming to Ann Arbor. He is 9-8 overall against the Hoosiers.
NEWS & NOTES
• The Hoosiers are in a stretch where 5 of 6 games are being played in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. This is their second road game of the season (Seton Hall). IU will play 3 of its first 4 Big Ten games on the road.
• IU and Michigan will open Big Ten play for the first time since December 31, 2009. IU won that contest in Bloomington, 71-65.
• The Hoosiers have shot over 50.0% from the floor in 8 of 14 halves this season. IU shot 53.4% against Duke, the third straight game (51.4%) that IU has made more than half their shots in a game. IU is third in the Big Ten in shooting at 50.4% and 2nd behind Michigan in 2-point field goal percentage (59.3%).

IU has played 3 straight games without double-digit turnovers for the first time in at least 22 seasons with 8 against Arkansas State and Eastern Michigan and 9 versus Duke. IU averaged 15.2 turnovers a season ago and had 49 in their first three games of the season.
• The Hoosiers return home to face Iowa (Dec. 4). IU will then travel to #18 Louisville (Dec. 9) and play #12 Notre Dame (Dec. 16) in Indianapolis in the Crossroads Classic.

1992 FINAL FOUR REUNION
Members of Indiana's 1992 Final Four team will return to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Monday, December 4 for a reunion. The group, which was seeded #2 in the West Region during the NCAA Tournament, will be honored at halftime of the Hoosiers Big Ten home opener against Iowa. Tip-off for the game is at 8 p.m.
The 1991-92 squad finished 27-7 and 14-4 in the Big Ten. The squad beat Eastern Illinois, LSU, Florida State and UCLA to reach the Final Four in Minneapolis where it fell to Duke.
Five players averaged in double figures that year, led by All-American Calbert Cheaney who chipped in 17.6 points per game as a junior. Junior Greg Graham averaged 12.8 points, sophomore Damon Bailey added 12.4 per game and freshman Alan Henderson scored 11.6 per contest. Senior Eric Anderson also contributed 10.9 per outing.
Senior Jamal Meeks led the team in assists with 133, while junior Chris Reynolds had 126 assists and led the team with 49 steals. Junior Matt Nover shot 54.4% from the floor and junior Todd Leary shot 58.2 from the field and 54.2% from three-point range. Freshman Todd Lindeman also played key minutes for the team. Sophomore Patrick Knight and freshman Brian Evans both were redshirts for the squad that season.
