Indiana vs. Indianapolis (Exhibition 2)
Post Game Notes
• The Hoosiers improved to 25-0 against non-Division I teams in exhibition play since 2004-05 and improved to 5-0 against UIndy.
• After trailing 15-14 with 11:57 to go in the first half, IU outscored the Greyhounds 19-9 to close out the half. IU led by as many as 23 points.
• The Hoosiers outrebounded UIndy, 47-27 and held a 16-3 advantage in second chance points.
• The Hoosiers also outscored UIndy, 17-0 in fast break points and the IU bench outscored Greyhound reserves, 31-9.
• IU finished with just 8 turnovers and in the exhibition season averaged just 9 giveaways.
Player Notes
• Senior Robert Johnson led the Hoosiers with 18 points and added 5 rebounds. He also had the team's 3 steals.
• Senior Freddie McSwain, Jr., had 12 points and 9 rebounds, including six offensive boards.
• Sophomore De'Ron Davis had 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. He played 24 minutes, the most he has ever played in a Hoosier uniform (22, twice last season).
• Senior Collin Hartman made his first appearance in an IU uniform since March 25, 2016 and nailed all three of his three-point shots. He has shot 44.6% for his career from long range in his Big Ten career.. He also had 3 boards in 15 minutes.
• Senior Josh Newkirk had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes.
• Sophomore Devonte Green had 5 points, 4 boards and 2 assists.
• Sophomore Curtis Jones and freshman Justin Smith each added 4 points.
• Freshman Aljami Durham had 2 points and 2 assists in 11 minutes. It was his first action of the season after battling a hamstring injury.
Odds and Trends
• IU allowed just 57.5 points on average in its two exhibition games.
• The Hoosiers amassed a 44.0 to 29.5 rebounding edge.
• The Hoosiers held opponents to 31.8% from three-point range.
