Hoosiers Host Pair of Top 10 Opponents

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team will host two top-10 opponents with No. 10 Wisconsin on Friday and No. 5 Minnesota on Saturday.

HOOSIERS SIGN IMPACT CLASS
On Wednesday, the Hoosiers announced the signing of their 2018 class. The class included 6-4 middle blocker Lexi Johnson from Scottsdale, Ariz., 6-5 setter Courtney Buzzerio from Chino Hills, Calif., and 6-3 outside hitter Breana Edwards from Rainier, Ore.
ASDELL STRONG FOR THE HOOSIERS
Junior team captain Elizabeth Asdell has been one of the Hoosiers most consistent players this season. Asdell has hit over .300 in six of her last night matches. At Maryland, Asdell connected on 15 kills and hit .464 for the match. Asdell is second on the team in kills with 218.
SERVING UP ACES
Sophomore setter Victoria Brisack tallied five aces against Rutgers in the Hoosiers match at Oct. 20. It was the Hoosiers most aces by an individual this season. Brisack followed it up the next day with two aces against No. 1 Penn State. Brisack leads the Hoosiers with 30 aces this season and ranks seventh in the Big Ten in aces per set.
FRESHMEN IMPACT
The Indiana youth is quite evident on the 2017 roster with 11 freshmen and sophomores. Freshman Kamryn Malloy has 118 kills for the Hoosiers this season.
Freshman Bayli Lebo became the second freshmen to start at libero for the Hoosiers this season. Lebo has played 88 of the Hoosiers 93 sets this season. Lebo is third on the team in aces with 22 and has recorded 141 digs. Lebo had 13 digs on the road at No. 7 Nebraska in the Hoosiers last match.
LOFTON LEADS THE BIG TEN
Sophomore Deyshia Lofton leads the Big Ten in solo blocks with 21 and is 11th in the conference in total blocks per set. Lofton also ranks 14th in the conference in hitting percentage at .328. Lofton is third on the team with 210 kills and leads the team in blocks with 95.
PROMOTIONS
This weekend will be giving out limited edition IU buttons. On Saturday is military appreciate day. Members of military and their guests will receive a reduced-price ticket. The Hoosier Army ROTC will also be on hand Saturday.
FINAL HOME MATCHES
After a week on the road next week, the Hoosiers will return to University Gym for the final time this season on Nov. 24 at 6:00 p.m. vs. Michigan and Nov. 25 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Michigan State.
