Indiana came within seven but couldn't pull any closer in the second half as it fell to No. 4/5 Louisville, 72-59, on Thursday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Freshman guard and Louisville native Jaelynn Penn led with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists, two blocks and a steal. Senior guard Tyra Buss added 12 points while senior forward Amanda Cahill contributed nine points, five rebounds, a team-high six assists, two steals and a block.
BUSS NAMED TO WADE TROPHY AND NAISMITH TROPHY WATCH LISTS
Indiana senior guard Tyra Buss was named to the Wade Trophy Watch List and Women's Citizen Naismith Watch List on Wednesday afternoon, announced on Wednesday afternoon. Buss also made both awards watch lists in 2016-17 which both recognize the nation's top collegiate women's basketball player.
CALIFORNIA SPLIT
Spending Thanksgiving on the West Coast, Indiana split a pair at the Hilton Concord Classic on Nov. 24-25. The Hoosiers defeated UAB, 71-63, on Friday while falling to host Saint Mary's, 88-82 on Saturday. For their efforts, senior guard Tyra Buss and freshman guard Jaelynn Penn were named to the all-tournament team.

Freshman guard Jaelynn Penn put up her first career 20 point scoring game when she notched 21 points at Saint Mary's on Nov. 25 Penn hit four 3-pointers in the win while also adding nine rebounds. The Louisville, Ky. native is averaging 10.9 points and 6.6 rebounds through her first seven games at Indiana.
CAHILL MAKES HER MARK
Senior Amanda Cahill will also move her way up in the IU record books this season, already making her mark in points scored and rebounds. She's just the fifth-ever player to record over 1,400 points and 800 rebounds as she ranks sixth all-time with 886 rebounds and 14th in scoring with 1,397 points. She's also just 14 rebounds away from becoming the fifth player all-time to record 900 career rebounds.
KYM CRASHES
Junior forward Kym Royster has made her presence known on the boards in the first three games this season. She has picked up nearly as many offensive boards (26) as defensive (30) while averaging 8.0 rebounds per game. The Newark, Ohio native is also averaging 12.3 points per contest and has scored in double figures in five of seven games this season.
NEW GAME, SAME CAHILL
It was another double-double for senior forward Amanda Cahill against UAB and solidified the longest streak of double-doubles in her career when she put up 14 points and 12 rebounds against UAB. Her five double-doubles ranks eighth- best in the nation this season. It marked the Clyde, Ohio native's 34th career double-double which ranks fourth-best all-time.
