• The Hoosiers finished the non-conference season by posting their best defensive numbers of the season.
• IU held the Penguins to 51 points, 33.9% shooting from the field and .08% (2/25) from three-point range.
• The Hoosiers shot 62.1% from the field in the second half.
• IU had 15 assists, 5 turnovers and 8 steals in the second half.
• The Penguins were the 4th team to make 7 free throws or fewer against IU. They were 7 of 14 from the line. Iowa made 4, and Michigan and Tennessee Tech both made 6.
• Junior Juwan Morgan led the Hoosiers with 16 points. He also added 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals.
• Senior Robert Johnson finished with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. He has scored 1,154 points in his career.
• Senior Josh Newkirk had his second straight double digit effort. He had 10 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Newkirk has made 10 of his last 18 field goal attempts, 4 of 8 three-pointers and is 6 of 8 from the line, while dishing out 11 assists with just 3 turnovers in the last 2 games.
• Junior De'Ron Davis had 9 points in 16 minutes.
• Freshman Justin Smith had 8 points and 5 rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench. He has made 4 of 6 shots the last 2 games and hit his first career three-point field goal against YSU.
• Redshirt junior Zach McRoberts had 7 points, a team-high 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. He is averaging 8.0 points in the last 3 games. McRoberts is now shooting 50% from the field (12/24) and hit 41.7% from three-point range (5/12). He is a +53 when he has been in the lineup since the Michigan game.
• Senior Freddie McSwain had 7 points and made all 3 of his field goal attempts. He also added 4 boards. He has averaged 8.5 points the last 2 games.
• Freshman Clifton Moore had his second straight game with a late basket. He also added an assist.
