
Lillard, Gutman Earn All-America Honors from United Soccer Coaches

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University men's soccer's Grant Lillard and Andrew Gutman earned All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday.
Lillard was named First-Team All-America, while Gutman earned Second-Team All-America honors. Last year, Lillard was named a Second-Team All-American by both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News. The All-America accolade is the first in his career for Gutman.
In the storied history of Indiana men's soccer, 41 Indiana players have garnered a total of 69 All-America honors. Lillard becomes the 16th player in program history to earn All-America accolades in more than one season.
Lillard and Gutman have both been stalwarts on the Hoosier defensive backline, helping Indiana lead the NCAA in shutouts (17), goals allowed (6) and goals-against average (.242).
Both Hinsdale, Ill. natives, the duo earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors this season, with Lillard being named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year unanimously. Both were also First-Team All-Midwest Region selections.
Lillard has started all 23 matches for the Hoosiers at center back, totaling two goals and two assists on the year. Gutman has also earned a start in all 23 games this season, recording career-highs with six goals and four assists.
